One-on-One Ministry
In her book "Always Enough," Heidi Baker wrote a chapter entitled, "All Fruitfulness Flows From Intimacy." It has been our experience that this is truth. Before Jesus commanded the disciples and told them, "Go ye therefore," He discipled them day and night for three years. He walked with them, talked with them, laughed with them, and cried with them. For those three years they watched Him as He healed the sick, fed the hungry, ministered and talked to the people. He shared every aspect of His life with them. Paul caught the Jesus vision and understood the importance of relationship and intimacy when he wrote, "Just as a nursing mother cares for her children, so we cared for you. Because we loved you so much, we were delighted to share with you not only the gospel of God, but our lives as well." A nursing child at it's mothers breast is quite the picture of intimacy don't you agree?
This is discipleship the Jesus Way, and this is how we apply it in our ministry: building solid foundations in the lives of people through One-on-One discipleship. And so we do this by opening our home to those special ones who God sends our way. We share our lives with them so they can be touched, transformed and equipped for the calling they have received from God.
